Varun Shipping plans to charter its offshore vessels
Oil and gas carrier Varun Shipping Co is in talks for two long-term charter contracts for its offshore vessels in the Caspian Sea, a top official told reporters on Tuesday, Worldmaritimenews reports.
“As far as offshore is concerned, our priority is to primarily charter our offshore ships into long-term contracts. We have three contracts in Brazil and are trying to get two more in Caspian Sea?,” its Vice Chairman and Managing Director Yudhishthir Khatau said.
He said the insurance cover for the Indian shipping industry has been rising due to high sea piracy.
